TREATMENT

DERMAL FILLERS FOR TEAR TROUGHS

ARTISTIC AESTHETIC MEDICINE

Treatment overview

Are you tired of looking… well, tired?! The skin beneath our eyes is extremely thin and delicate, leaving it open to the risk of premature ageing much sooner than perhaps other areas of the face. Over time, the area known as the tear trough can become longer and deeper as part of the natural ageing process and a gradual breakdown of collagen and elastin levels. However, this hollowing can then allow shadows to be cast beneath the eye, creating “dark circles” that can leave you looking tired and deflated. This is one of the most obvious and early indicators of premature ageing for so many of us, but dermal fillers offer the rejuvenating results we so desperately crave.

At the Dr Rasha Clinic, we use the most advanced hyaluronic acid-based fillers to volumise hollow tear troughs, hydrate the delicate skin and refresh tired-looking eyes from within. You’ll never again have to worry about looking as though you’ve had a rough night’s sleep.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Each of our HA fillers will be made up of different strengths, and Dr Rasha will advise which are best for your tear troughs. This is a very delicate area, so the type of filler used will need to be delicate. Specifically, Dr Rasha likes to use Teoxane and Juvederm, depending on what filler is best suited to the patient.

Results will vary depending on where and how much of the filler is used, but Dr Rasha uses a unique and artistic technique to add a little volume and fill out the deep set lines that form our tear troughs underneath the eyes. The results from dermal filler treatments with Dr Rasha can last between 6 to 12 months; after this time a top up treatment will be recommended in order to maintain results.

Some patients may experience mild pain during the treatment, which will be administered using a cannula. A topical numbing cream is optional if required pre-treatment. You may experience slight bruising or swelling around the injected area, but this should subside after a few days in most cases, and you should be able to cover this with makeup very easily. Dr Rasha will provide in-depth aftercare advice for all of her patients post tear trough filler treatment.
